Decaf - Colombia
El Buho is a washed sugarcane decaf coffee sourced from farmers in the Huila and Tolima regions of Colombia. It seems almost fate that this delicious decaf is called El Buho - which translates to “The Owl”!
We have always prided ourselves on sourcing decaf that is all compromise on caffeine, but doesn’t compromise on flavour! The sugarcane decaffeination method is a process which combines high mountain spring water and Ethyl Acetate (EA) of natural origin. The natural EA is obtained from a sugar cane-based process and is, together with spring water, the only other element which comes into contact with the coffee. This method naturally lifts the caffeine from the bean, but allows it to retain all of its rich and unique characteristics. Expect toasted nuts, golden syrup, and lemonade.
Process: Decaf
Altitude: 700 – 1,600 metres above sea level
Origin: Huila and Tolima region
Roast Profile: Medium-Dark
